The enormous work known as “High School English Grammar and Composition by Wren and Martin” is available in two editions. One is a deluxe version featuring full-color illustrations, while the other is a standard edition without illustrations.
Where necessary, the book’s content has been updated. It was thought necessary to rewrite certain sections, particularly those on adjectives, active and passive voice, articles, and prepositions. Appendix I has been expanded to include information on American English. Appendix II has been superseded with a more recent set of examinations covering the most critical aspects of grammar.
In contrast to many traditional grammar books, this book assists the student in using the language while still providing thorough knowledge about the language. It gives extensive instruction and practice in sentence construction, proper language, understanding, written writing, and other related areas in order to provide students with the capacity to communicate successfully in English.
Authors Wren & Martin
Both of the authors are well known for the book we are talking about. Percival Christopher Wren was a British author who specialized in adventure fiction. He is most famous for Beau Geste, a 1924 novel about the French Foreign Legion in North Africa that was heavily filmed. This was one of 33 novels and short story collections he wrote, the majority of which dealt with African colonial soldiering.
